Representatives Kevin Hern and Brad Schneider have introduced a bipartisan resolution aimed at strengthening economic ties between the United States and Israel. The resolution, supported by eleven bipartisan co-sponsors, emphasizes the importance of free trade with Israel in both times of peace and times of conflict.

According to Rep. Hern, "Israel is our closest ally in the Middle East, we have a responsibility to them as they combat brutal Hamas terrorists and fight for the return of their people taken hostage." He highlighted the necessity of nurturing the economic relationship between the two nations.

Rep. Schneider echoed this sentiment, stating, "I am proud to join my Republican colleague in leading this bipartisan resolution expressing Congress’s solemn commitment to stand with Israel as it works to release its hostages and dismantle Hamas’s ability to reign terror over Gaza or threaten Israel." He emphasized the importance of using diplomatic tools to support Israel, the only democracy in the region.

The resolution, which has already passed the Senate, aims to show Congress's support for Israel and its efforts to combat terrorism and strengthen its economy. The U.S.-Israel Free Trade Agreement of 1985 has played a crucial role in supporting Israeli economy growth and trade relations with the United States.

The resolution has gained the support of AIPAC, further underlining the bipartisan commitment to enhancing economic cooperation between the U.S. and Israel. The full text of the resolution is available for review for those interested in its contents.
