Ascension St. John expanded its midwifery care services to the Claremore Clinic beginning April 1, according to an announcement on April 6.

The expansion aims to provide more comprehensive maternal healthcare options for patients in the Claremore area.

Carla May, advanced practice registered nurse and certified nurse-midwife, discussed the new services with the Claremore Daily Progress. She outlined how this initiative is intended to improve access to specialized care for expectant mothers at the local clinic.

Ascension St. John’s decision reflects a growing trend among healthcare providers seeking to broaden their range of maternity services and reach more communities through local clinics.

As this program begins at the Claremore Clinic, residents can expect increased support throughout pregnancy and childbirth from qualified midwives like May.
