Mayor Bynum recognized two Tulsa Parks lifeguards with CityStar awards for their heroic efforts to save the life of an individual outside of McClure Park on June 19, 2022. Using extensive knowledge of CPR and how to use an automated external defibrillator, Gus Rolston and Julianna Pope were able to resuscitate the patient who had lost consciousness outside the pool gates – all before emergency crews arrived. Gus and Julianna are true City STARS and we’re incredibly honored to have them on our team.
