Sophomore pitcher Easton Teel has earned his second consecutive Kwik Star Summit League weekly honor, according to an April 14 announcement from league officials. This marks his third such award this season. Northern Colorado outfielder Jaden Stone was also recognized for his performance.
These weekly awards highlight standout performances in Summit League baseball, drawing attention to individual achievements during the ongoing season.
Teel, who plays for Oral Roberts and is a native of Choctaw, Oklahoma, threw seven scoreless innings in a 9-0 win over Omaha. He retired 12 Mavericks in order at one point and did not allow a hit until the fifth inning. Teel finished with six strikeouts and gave up only three hits. He has now made five straight quality starts and allowed just two earned runs across 27.2 innings of conference play, resulting in a 0.65 earned run average.
Jaden Stone led Northern Colorado to a series win over North Dakota State by collecting multiple hits in each game and finishing the series with eight hits out of thirteen at-bats (.615 average). Stone scored five runs during the series, including three during an extra-inning victory in game two where he scored both the opening run and the game-winner on Jake Bullard’s single.
Other players nominated for these honors included Colten Becker (North Dakota State), Wailele Kane-Yates (Oral Roberts), Nolan Grawe (South Dakota State), Matthew Maulik (St. Thomas) for performer; Reece Wagner (Northern Colorado), Sheamus Ryan (North Dakota State), Sam Novotny (South Dakota State), Zak Endres (St. Thomas) for pitcher.
The league continues to recognize top performers each week as teams compete through their schedules.
