WASHINGTON, DC – Representative Kevin Hern (OK-01) released the following statement regarding the weaponization of the IRS to benefit one political party and harm another.

“Americans have seen their government weaponized against conservatives over and over and over again,” said Rep. Hern. “Speaker McCarthy has joined our calls for an investigation into the abuse happening at the IRS, made explicitly clear in the coverup of the Hunter Biden scandal. My colleagues and I on the Ways and Means Committee will expose any wrongdoing and protect the whistleblowers. There is no place for malfeasance, abuse of power, or partisan agendas at the IRS or any other federal agency.”
