Congressman Kevin Hern, representing Oklahoma’s 1st district since 2018, recently shared several statements on social media regarding significant political issues. Born in Belton, Missouri in 1961, Hern has been a member of the U.S. Congress following Jim Bridenstine’s tenure. He resides in Tulsa and holds degrees from Arkansas Tech University and the University of Arkansas, Little Rock.

On May 12, 2025, Congressman Hern announced via social media that “Edan Alexander is FINALLY free, after nearly 600 days in Hamas captivity.” He expressed gratitude to President Trump for his efforts in securing the release of Alexander, whom he described as potentially the last living American held by Hamas. Hern emphasized the ongoing need for rescuing others still captive.

In another post on the same day, Hern addressed immigration policy by stating “Deporting criminal illegal aliens is not a complicated issue.” He framed the matter as a binary choice between supporting a safe America or opposing it.

Later that day, Hern commented on efforts within Congress related to economic policy. He praised his colleagues on the Ways and Means Committee for their work over two years and endorsed President Trump’s view that “our chairman @RepJasonSmith is leading this process with the goal of doing what is right for ALL Americans.”

Kevin Hern continues to engage with key national issues through his legislative role and public statements.
