In a reflective post on April 19, Hern commemorated the somber anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing, which occurred 30 years prior. He honored the 168 lives lost in the attack with a message of remembrance, stating, “30 years ago today, a horrific attack on the Alfred P. Murrah Building in Oklahoma City took 168 lives and forever changed the people of Oklahoma.”
