Despite a complete game effort from pitcher Maura Moore, the Tulsa Golden Hurricane softball team was defeated by Wisconsin 5-2 on Saturday in Arlington, Texas. Moore allowed nine hits and struck out two batters in her second consecutive complete game.

Center fielder Mackenzy Glenn contributed with two hits in four at-bats. Amber Turner also had two hits and drove in one run. Faith Russell finished with two hits, including a double, and drew a walk.

Wisconsin took an early lead with two runs in the first inning. Tulsa responded in the bottom of the second when Turner singled to start the inning and Russell followed with another single. Madison Garcia’s base hit loaded the bases, and Daeya Moses walked to bring in Turner for Tulsa’s first run.

In the fifth inning, Wisconsin scored twice more to extend its lead. Tulsa answered when Claira Skaggs reached on an error and was driven home by Turner’s RBI single, making it 4-2.

Wisconsin added a solo home run by Showalter in the seventh inning. Tulsa attempted to rally as Russell drew a walk but could not score further, ending the game at 5-2.

Tulsa will finish its weekend schedule against host UT Arlington on Sunday at 11:30 a.m.
