Oklahoma Wesleyan University Men’s Soccer Advances to the KCAC Tournament Semi-Finals

The #1 seeded Men’s Soccer faced of against the #8 seeded Bethany College Swedes for the KCAC Tournament Quarterfinal November 5th in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Entering the match-up the Eagles were 11-5-2 overall and ended conference with a 10-1-1 record while the Swedes were 6-8-3 overall and ended KCAC play with a 4-5-3 record.

With the 1-0 win over Bethany, the Eagles improve to the KCAC Tournament Semifinals in Wichita, Kansas on November 9th.

HIGHLIGHTS

The 90 minutes of play were a back and forth defensive fight. Both teams were superb defensively, leaving each other scoreless until the 38th minute of play with a goal from OKWU’s Stefan Cvetanovic and an assist from Edgar Rissi.

Both goalies were nearly flawless, Ilija Catic for OKWU and Jake Goldstien put together an impressive performance in the box. Catic ended the day with 10 saves and no goals scored in order to come away with another win.

UPCMOMING EVENTS

The Eagles are set to compete in the KCAC Tournament Semi-Final next week in Wichita, awaiting their opponent.
