Women’s basketball was home February 4th for a KCAC match-up with the Avila University Eagles. The Lady Eagles looked to improve to and stay in the top 8 of the KCAC with a win against Avila.

Falling in overtime 70-63 to Avila, the Lady Eagles look to bounce back with the upcoming KCAC events.

The Lady Eagles were dominant in the first half and lead 36-25 heading into the second half. Avila came to life in the second half and overcame the 11-point deficit in order to tie the game up with 34 seconds left on the clock. Outscoring the Lady Eagles 13-5, Avila went on to win 70-63.

Ty’Najah Mitchell led the Lady Eagles throughout the entire of the night, scoring 15 and accumulating 8 assists. Following closely, Mahaley Farmer was 2 rebounds around from a double-double with 8 rebounds and 10 points on the night.
