Oral Roberts University athletes achieved several personal records at the Washburn Open, held in Washburn, Kansas, on Friday and Saturday. The event saw notable performances from both the men’s and women’s teams.
Jordan Wenger won the high jump with a 2.09-meter effort, continuing his strong sophomore season just one week after setting a program record. Kellen Rutledge also performed well in the high jump, finishing third and matching Wenger’s mark of 2.09 meters for a new personal best.
Anthony Smith placed second in the men’s high jump out of 16 competitors with a personal record of 1.99 meters. Jamin Andrews followed closely behind in third place with a best jump of 1.94 meters. Woedem Vasmark-Voegborlo finished within the top ten, recording a top jump of 1.84 meters.
In relay events, the Oral Roberts women’s team took fourth place in the 4000-meter distance medley relay among 17 teams with a time of 12:14.55. Team members included Lillian Woolery, Hannah Vanderburg, Zoie Kiddy, and Madeline Cabana. Their result places them at number 30 nationally for Division I indoor track and field.
Ossly Murambidzi set a personal record in the women’s 3000-meter race with a time of 9:53:30. Olivia Granderson advanced to the semifinals in the women’s 60-meter event from a field of over one hundred athletes.
Kenneth Ikutiminu set personal bests in two events: he completed the men’s 60 meters in 7.05 seconds and ran the men’s 200 meters in 22.29 seconds.
Madeline Cabana also recorded her fastest time yet in the mile run on day two, finishing sixth at 4:56.48. Destiny Downing was fourth among women’s high jumpers with her best leap measured at 1.65 meters.
