The Oral Roberts baseball team extended its unbeaten run in Summit League play with a 9-0 shutout victory over Omaha on April 10. The game took place at Tal Anderson Field in Omaha, Nebraska, and improved Oral Roberts’ record to 19-12 overall and a perfect 10-0 in league play.
This win highlights the team’s strong performance within the conference as they continue their push for the top spot. Maintaining an undefeated record in league games is significant for postseason positioning and team morale.
Wailele Kane-Yates started the scoring early for Oral Roberts with a home run to left field in the first inning. Kole Dudding added momentum with an RBI triple in the second, followed by a single from Will Edmunson that brought Dudding home, making it 3-0 by the end of two innings.
The Golden Eagles broke open the game in the fifth inning, scoring six runs. Hudson Ellis doubled and scored on Makani Tanaka’s triple before Kane-Yates hit a sacrifice fly. Additional runs came from singles by Dudding and Ellis, as well as capitalizing on errors and walks by Omaha’s defense. The final run was scored when Dudding crossed home plate on a wild pitch.
Pitcher Easton Teel earned his third win of the season after throwing seven shutout innings, allowing only three hits while striking out six batters. Maddox Meyer took the loss for Omaha after giving up eight runs—five of them earned—on eight hits.
Looking ahead, Oral Roberts will continue its series against Omaha on Saturday at 6 p.m., aiming to maintain its winning streak.
