The Oral Roberts University track and field team recorded several top-eight finishes at the 98th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays, according to an April 6 announcement. The event featured some of the nation’s leading collegiate programs and took place in Austin, Texas.
The results are significant as they demonstrate the team’s ability to compete against strong national competition early in the outdoor season. Such performances may help set the tone for upcoming meets and conference events.
Junior Woedem Vasmark-Voegborlo led Oral Roberts by finishing sixth in the men’s long jump with a mark of 6.98 meters. He competed alongside athletes from Ohio State, Texas, and North Texas. In the men’s high jump, sophomore Jordan Wenger cleared 2.10 meters to tie for sixth overall with competitors from Houston and Clemson.
On the women’s side, Destiny Downing represented Oral Roberts in the high jump, clearing 1.64 meters to finish seventh overall among athletes from Texas, Northern Illinois, and Nicholls State.
With these performances, Oral Roberts continues to make progress during its outdoor season. The achievements by Vasmark-Voegborlo, Wenger, and Downing highlight strengths in jumping events for both men’s and women’s teams.
Looking ahead, Oral Roberts plans to build on these results as it continues its outdoor campaign over the coming weeks.
