Oral Roberts University Anderson and D’Agostini Named to #SummitMSoc All-Academic Team

A trio repeat honorees were among 11 student-athletes named to the 2022 #SummitMSOC All-Academic Team announced by League officials on Wednesday. Kansas City’s Seth Kacich earned his third honor, while teammate Cooper Clark and Denver’ Aidan O’Toole were named to the squad that was voted on by the membership’s faculty athletics representatives and sports information directors for the second time.

O’Toole was among a league-leading four Pioneers to find their way onto the team. He was joined by first-time honorees Jason Belloli, Ben Smith and Ronan Wynne. That trio also earned All-League first team honors with Smith being named the Midfielder of the Year and Wynne earning Defensive Player of the Year accolades.

Denver won its eighth Summit League Tournament this past season and became the third straight League team to win an opening round game in the NCAA Tournament.

Kacich and Clark were joined on the squad by teammate Arne Neufang to give the Roos a trio of honorees.

Oral Roberts forwards Shane Anderson and Felipe D’Agostini give the Golden Eagles a pair on the all-academic team. Anderson was named to the All-League second team, while D’Agostini was a first-team honoree and the Offensive Player of the Year.

Rounding out the list is all-league second teamer Lute Lillo Portero of Omaha and Western Illinois’ Ryan DeBois.

To be eligible for the Academic All-League team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale), completed at least one full academic year at the current institution and participated in 50 percent of their team’s competitions. 
 
Nominations are brought forth by sports information directors from the league’s six institutions that carry men’s soccer.  The #SummitMSOC all-league team is made up of the 11 student-athletes receiving the most votes with all ties standing.
