The Oral Roberts University women’s basketball team was defeated by North Dakota State University 93-72 on Saturday at the Scheels Center in Fargo, North Dakota. With this result, ORU’s record stands at 12-10 overall and 5-4 in Summit League play, while NDSU improves to 20-2 and remains undefeated in conference action.
Four players from Oral Roberts scored in double figures during the game. Jalei Oglesby led with 14 points, Anna Trusty contributed 12 points, Kayten Donley added 11 points and seven rebounds, and Ari Gordon came off the bench to score 10 points.
ORU fell behind early, trailing 25-10 after the first quarter and facing a 48-26 deficit at halftime. The Bison extended their lead through the third quarter, leading 73-50 going into the final period. ORU managed to narrow the gap somewhat in the fourth quarter but could not overcome NDSU’s advantage.
Bench players for ORU provided a boost by scoring eight of the team’s 22 fourth-quarter points and totaling 29 bench points for the game. Donley led ORU in second-half performance with nine points and six rebounds.
Jalei Oglesby led all Golden Eagles scorers with her 14-point effort, while Donley had a team-high seven rebounds. For North Dakota State, Avery Koenen recorded a double-double with 25 points and 13 rebounds.
The Golden Eagles will next play at home against South Dakota on Saturday, February 7 at the Mabee Center as part of National Girls and Women in Sports Day celebrations.
