Mariano Fazio, Alex Meinhard, Alex Lopez and Henry Sach were all tabbed to the 2022 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Men's All-East Region team, as announced by the organization.
Fazio and Meinhard were first-team selections, while Lopez and Sach were named to the second team. TU has had 77 all-region honorees, including 38 first-team selections, 31 second-team honorees and eight third-team selections.
Fazio, a senior from Sevilla, Spain, helped anchor the Tulsa defense, which allowed just 18 goals and recorded eight clean sheets for a 1.03 goals-against average, all of which were the best in the league. He also recorded two goals and one assist for five points. For his efforts this season he was named as the American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year and picked up all-conference first-team accolades, as well as to the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week, as The American Defensive Player of the Week, the TDS No. 6 National Player, was a United Soccer Coaches Defender to Watch and was tabbed to the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List.
A junior forward from Tartu, Estonia, Meinhard had team-bests of 10 goals, five assists and 25 points this season. He attempted 38 shots, 22 of which were on goal, for a 57.9 shots-on-goal percentage. He ranked second in points, third in goals, ninth in shots and 10th in assists in The American final rankings and picked up all-conference first-team honors. Meinhard was named to the Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week twice, was selected as the TDS No. 2 National Player in the midseason rankings, was a United Soccer Coaches Player to Watch and was tabbed to the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List.
Lopez, a sophomore from Madrid, Spain, played 1,300 minutes in goal, recorded 46 saves and six shutouts for a 0.742 saves percentage, and allowed 16 goals for a 1.11 GAA. He concluded the season ranked first in shutouts, second in GAA, fourth in saves percentage and sixth in saves among the league's best. Lopez was named The American Goalkeeper of the Year and to the league's all-conference first team, as well as The American Goalkeeper of the Week and was selected to the United Soccer Coaches Goalkeepers to Watch list.
A senior midfielder from Benitachell, Spain, Sach recorded one goal and two assists for four points this season. He was named to The American all-conference first team and was the league's Defensive Player of the Week once, and was tabbed to the College Soccer News Team of the Week once.
