City of Tulsa Winter Weather Update – Feb. 1, 1 p.m.
City of Tulsa street crews turned their focus today to brine application.
Brine crews will address any winter precipitation that moves through tonight. Since Monday, crews have applied 1,600 tons of salt, 33,000 gallons of brine, and have plowed 9,700 lane miles.
During winter weather response, the first focus is to clear city arterial streets for emergency responders. After arterial streets are clear, the second focus moves to residential or collector streets near hospitals, schools, and steep hills. Yesterday, most of the refuse routes were collected, and today plans are in place to collect all refuse and recycling exclusive of hilly areas. Contractors are also returning to unserved areas to collect refuse, exclusive of hilly areas. Please leave refuse and recycling carts at the curb and every effort will be made to collect this week. If your recycling does not get serviced this week, please put any extra recycling next to the recycling cart in a recyclable container, such as a cardboard box. If your refuse does not get serviced this week, you may put a commensurate amount of refuse next to your refuse cart at the curb without stickers and it will be collected on your normal service day next week.
Bulky waste crews plan to resume servicing on Friday, weather permitting. Crews anticipate being able to collect Wednesday, Thursday and Friday collections on Friday and Saturday. Collections missed Monday and Tuesday will be collected next Monday and Tuesday.
For citizens who cannot make their Tulsa Municipal Court date today because of the weather, their cases will be passed to February 21 (last name A-M) and February 22 (last name N-Z). For those who were not able to make their court date on Monday, January 30, their cases have been passed to February 13 (last name A-M) and February 14 (last name N-Z). Citizens who didn’t make court yesterday, January 31, will have their cases passed to passed to February 15 (last name A-M) and February 16 (last name N-Z).
Utility billing and the Permit Center at City Hall are open today during normal business hours. For the safety of Development Services staff, inspections were canceled today with the exception of gas meters in commercial properties and occupied residences.

Tulsa Day Center, 415 W. Archer St.: open 24-7
