Beginning Monday, June 26, we will pause recycling collections to focus on removal of storm debris. The collections will be picked up according to the Solid Waste & Recycling service schedule. Solid waste in the black cart will be collected, however, recycling routes will not run. Please do not place your blue cart at the curb. Recycling collections will resume the week of July 3rd.
Residents are encouraged to break down the storm debris in 4-foot pieces and place it as close to the curb as possible to help with the removal.
A large presence of employees and big equipment is likely. Please give them the space needed to safely do their work. Keep in mind that city employees and equipment will not go onto private property to remove storm debris.
Resources for Assistance
- Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief has recovery teams of volunteers in the area to help homeowners recover from a disaster. Call 1-844-690-9198 or complete this form on the organization's website and indicate what kind of assistance - chainsaw, heavy equipment, temporary roof - you need.
- Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management created an online form for residents to register damage they sustained at their homes. The information will help authorities understand locations impacted by disaster. Contact information will be used to provide information on resources available as well as how to apply for any assistance that may be available.
The Standup Mulch Site at East Latimer Street and North 89th East Avenue is available as an option for Broken Arrow residents to offload green waste.

As of 3:20 p.m., there were 2,296 customers in Broken Arrow without power. PSO has received reports of scammers calling customers asking for money to restore power. If you receive this type of call, hang up.

Power has been restored to all intersections in Broken Arrow. There is one street closure.
- 209th E. Avenue between 31st and 41st streets - PSO crews have made it the scene and are working on repairs.

Residents may take green waste to the Standup Mulch Site at East Latimer Street and North 89th East Avenue beginning at Noon, Tuesday, June 20.

Why 4-foot bundles? First and foremost, it is a requirement of the green waste site that the city offloads the storm debris. Another reason is that longer pieces could interfere with the arm of the grapple truck and damage the hydraulic line. Bundling it in 4-feet pieces allows our crews to safely, quickly, and efficiently remove the debris from your property and all properties in the community.

Power has been restored to Sieling and Preserve parks. All splash pads are operational. The Interactive Water Feature at the Rose District Plaza is offline due to equipment repairs.
JUNE 20 - 3:16 p.m.
As of 2 p.m., there were 7,170 customers in Broken Arrow without power. According to PSO, The majority of the 2,700-plus workers, including line workers, forestry and support personnel have arrived and are being dispatched in all areas impacted. This is in addition to the 700 PSO and local business partners who have been working since the storm subsided.

City Streets
City crews have cleared most streets of debris in Broken Arrow. If a tree is down with power lines entangled, city crews will not remove the tree out of abundance of caution for the safety of city crews. After PSO removes the power lines, the tree will be pulled from the roadway.
The focus now is on cleaning up the right of ways and street sweeping.
Stop signs have been placed in several intersections where traffic signals are without power. If you approach an intersection without working traffic signals or a Stop sign, please treat the intersection as a 4-way stop.

Power Restoration
City leadership is in communication with representatives of Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO) regarding the power outages in Broken Arrow. The city has been assured that PSO is working as diligently as possible in its efforts to restore electricity.
PSO is increasing its staffing to assist in restoration efforts. More than 2,700 crews which include line workers, forestry and support personnel are coming from as far away as New Jersey. Most of them will arrive on June 19. Additional phone center staff has been brought in to reduce call waiting time. Since midnight Sunday, the phone center has processed more than 99,970 calls.
PSO has indicated that it will be a multi-day recovery event to restore power due to the significant number of outages. As of 1 p.m. on Monday, June 19, there were 21,525 customers without power in Broken Arrow.
If you approach downed power lines, please assume the lines are energized and stay away. Due to the significance of the outages, PSO expects to release estimated times of power restorations on Monday.

Cox Cable and Internet
The company has reported it is making preliminary repairs. Because its service is connected to power lines, a complete assessment cannot be done until PSO completes its work. When it is safe to do so, Cox will begin restoring service. The company said it will bring in help from other Cox markets to assist with repairs. If your power is on but you have no internet, try resetting your equipment by unplugging your devices and plugging them back in.
Cooling Stations and Medical Device Charging
Central Park Community Center, 1500 S. Main St., and Nienhuis Park Community Center, 3201 N. 9th St., will be open during normal business hours for customers who need a place of relief while power is out.
Individuals who need electricity to medical devices, may come to the Public Safety Complex, 1101 N. 6th St., during normal business hours.
Splash Pads
The splash pads at Sieling and Preserve parks are without power. The splash pad at Camino Villa and the Interactive Water Feature in the Rose District are offline for repairs. The other splash pads and swimming pools are operational.

City Streets
Debris has been removed from arterial streets to ensure the roadways are passable and safe for citizens. Stop signs have been placed in several intersections where traffic signals are without power. If you approach an intersection without working traffic signals or a Stop sign, please treat the intersection as a 4-way stop.
There are a few streets, primarily in northeast Broken Arrow, that are closed with barricades. Please find an alternate route and do not drive around the barricades. The barricades are placed for your safety to avoid potential hazards ahead.

Tree debris may be placed at the curb in bundles of 4 feet or smaller. Leaves should be placed in clear bags and placed at the curb. Debris will be collected through June 30.

Individuals who need electricity to charge oxygen tanks, may come to the Public Safety Complex, 1101 N. 6th Street until 9 p.m. on Sunday, June 18, and between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. on Monday, June 19.
