Representative Kevin Hern from Oklahoma's 1st Congressional District has revealed his guest for the State of the Union address, scheduled for tonight in Washington, DC. Hern will be accompanied by Tulsa County District Attorney Steve Kunzweiler, who is known for his dedication to protecting Tulsa County and his vocal stance on the impact of fentanyl in the community.
In a statement, Rep. Hern emphasized the challenges faced by communities like Tulsa, stating, “As we grapple with surging crime rates, the deadly influx of fentanyl, and rampant illegal immigration, DA Steve Kunzweiler and his team are on the front lines experiencing the devastating consequences of Joe Biden’s failed policies."
Hern highlighted the urgency of the situation, attributing the crises to the Biden Administration's failure to secure the border, which he claims is resulting in the loss of American lives at an alarming rate. The Congressman underscored the dangers posed to every American community, including Tulsa, by these ongoing issues.
Earlier this year, Attorney General Gentner Drummond testified before the House Homeland Security Committee about the impact of the Biden Administration's border security failures on public safety in Oklahoma. The Tulsa County District Attorney’s Office reported a significant increase in fentanyl prosecutions in 2023, reflecting the severity of the drug crisis. Additionally, national data shows a concerning number of illegal crossings and individuals evading U.S. Border Patrol.
The State of the Union Address, to be delivered by President Joseph R. Biden Jr., is scheduled for 9:00 p.m. ET and will be available for viewing online.
