WASHINGTON, DC – Representative Kevin Hern (OK-01) made it clear that he is against the upcoming vote on a supplemental funding package for Ukraine, citing the failure of the package to address what he considers the primary concern for Americans.

“This supplemental package fails to address the number one crisis for the American people - the invasion at our southern border,” said Rep. Hern, emphasizing his stance on prioritizing border security over additional funding for Ukraine.

Hern reiterated his longstanding commitment, stating, “I have long promised never to vote for more Ukraine funding without strong border security provisions to protect Americans.” He expressed his belief that diverting funds to Ukraine while neglecting the situation at the Southern border is unjustifiable, saying, “We have no business sending tens of billions of dollars to Ukraine while doing absolutely nothing to end the crisis on our own Southern border.”

As one of the initial Members of Congress to take a firm stance against allocating more funds to Ukraine without addressing border security concerns, Rep. Hern affirmed his unwavering position, declaring, “There isn’t anything that will make me change my beliefs on this.” He concluded by asserting, “The American people deserve better,” underscoring his commitment to advocating for what he perceives as the priorities of the American public.
