Representative Kevin Hern (OK-01) released a statement today celebrating the passage of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) in the House of Representatives.

“This NDAA gives our troops a much-needed pay raise,” said Rep. Hern. “This NDAA focuses on quality-of-life improvements for our servicemembers and upholds the sanctity of life, thanks to Rep. Van Duyne’s amendment. I look forward to working with our Senate colleagues to send this legislation on to the President’s desk.”

Yesterday, Rep. Van Duyne’s amendment blocking funding for abortion travel expenses passed the House. The amendment was endorsed by the Republican Study Committee, chaired by Rep. Hern.
