Representative Kevin Hern of Oklahoma's 1st District has issued a statement marking the one-year anniversary of the October 7th terrorist attack on Israel by Hamas. The attack, described by Hern as "the deadliest attack on the Jewish people since the Holocaust," involved rockets, border incursions, and an assault on a music festival.
Hern expressed concern over American cities and college campuses becoming platforms for antisemitic expressions following the incident. He emphasized that those aiming for Israel's destruction would not succeed.
The representative highlighted that 97 civilians, including Americans, remain hostages of Hamas. He called for firm U.S. support to ensure their safe return. Hern noted ongoing threats from Iran’s proxies—Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis—against Israel.
He concluded by stating, "America’s strength isn’t just in words; it’s in the doctrine that’s kept us safe: peace through strength." Hern urged unwavering U.S. support for Israel against forces seeking chaos and destruction.
