Representative Kevin Hern of Oklahoma's 1st District has been elected as the Chair of the House Republican Policy Committee for the 119th Congress. This decision was made by both returning and incoming members of the House Republican Conference.
Previously, Rep. Hern held the position of Chair of the Republican Study Committee during the 118th Congress. Upon his election, Rep. Hern expressed his gratitude and readiness to take on this new role: “I’m honored to be elected by my peers to serve as the Republican Policy Chair in the next Congress,” he stated. He emphasized his commitment to advancing policy initiatives aligned with what he describes as an "America First agenda" in collaboration with the Trump-Vance Administration.
Rep. Hern also extended his appreciation to Marisa Burleson for her significant contributions leading up to his election victory, noting her work as RSC’s Member Services Director and describing her as a "dedicated and reliable patriot."
The Republican Policy Committee functions as an advisory body within House Republicans, offering a platform for members to deliberate on legislative proposals and current issues facing the House. The Chairman position is considered the fifth most senior role within the Republican Conference.
