Tulsa men’s tennis was defeated 4-0 by No. 20 Baylor on Friday night at the Hawkins Indoor Tennis Center in Waco, Texas.
Baylor took the lead early by winning the doubles point. Blake Anderson and Connor Van Schalkwyk earned a 6-1 win over Calum Jestin and Connor Doig on court three. On court one, Victor Tosetto and Gus Tettamble fell 2-6, which secured the doubles point for Baylor.
In singles matches, Baylor claimed straight-set victories on courts three, four, and six to clinch the overall match. No. 17 Connor Van Schalkwyk beat Reiya Komagata 6-1, 6-1 on court three. No. 44 Alexandru Chirita won against Ruben Fernandez 6-4, 6-1 on court four. Louis Bowden completed the win with a 6-0, 6-0 result over Victor Tosetto on court six.
Matches on courts one, two, and five were left unfinished after Baylor secured the victory.
Tulsa will try to recover from this loss when they face SMU in Dallas on Sunday at 1 p.m.
