The 2022 watch list was compiled based on the 2021 Ray Guy Award Semifinalist List, the top ten NCAA Punters from 2021, the 2021 all-conference teams, the 2021 All-American Teams, the 2022 pre-season all-conference Teams and eligible punters on the 2021 watch list.

Wilson, a 6’3″ junior, has handled the punting chores for Tulsa in each of the last two seasons for a 44.5 career average.

In 2021, Wilson averaged 45.7 yards on 61 punts to rank third in the American Athletic Conference and 18th nationally. He had 23 of his punts travel 50+ yards and landed 21 inside the 20-yard line as 19 were fair caught.

Wilson had a season-high 54.5-yard average against Arkansas State, while all five of his punts went for over 50 yards. He punted three times at South Florida for a 54.3-yarda average. He also averaged 44.0 yards against Memphis with four of his seven punts landing inside the 20, and thus was named to the Ray Guy 8 list for that game

The Melbourne, Australia native also punted six times for a 47.5 average at #9 Ohio State, including a season-long 67-yarder.

Before coming to Tulsa, Wilson played Australian Rules Football and did not begin playing American football until he arrived at Tulsa in the fall of 2019. Wilson redshirted during the 2019 campaign.

The winner will be announced live during The Home Depot College Football Awards airing on ESPN in December 2022.

Tulsa opens the 2022 football campaign at Wyoming on Sept. 3, and will open the home season against Northern Illinois a week later (Sept. 10). Season tickets can be purchased online at TulsaHurricane.com or by calling 918.631.GoTU (4688).
