34.2% unemployed in Tulsa in 2017

34.2 percent of Tulsa residents between 16 and 65 years old were unemployed in 2017, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The percentage of unemployed residents was less than the statewide total of 38.6 percent for this demographic group. In 2017 the total Tulsa population reached 312,385.

Out of 205,621 people who had a job, 163 were employed in the Armed Forces and 205,458 belonged to the civilian labor force.

The total unemployment numbers include residents of all ages who are not working.
