OKWU Softball has been recognized in the latest NAIA National Coaches Poll for the 2nd time in program history. After going 14-4 since the first poll, the Lady Eagles have been recognized as Receiving Votes (78).
HIGHLIGHTSWithin the 14 wins, the Eagles made a huge impression early on in the season with a 8-6 win of the #3 USAO Drovers.
The Eagles only losses come from #1 ranked Oklahoma City, RV MACU, and Mid-America Nazarene.
Two Lady Eagles have been a dominant force in the box thus far; Regan Rector and Lindy Alexander. The two average a .450 batting average and account for a majority of the team's RBI's.
In the circle for the Lady Eagles, sophomore Maddy Wiese has been superb. Receiving the win over USAO and holding the #1 ranked Oklahoma City to only 2 runs in their last outing, Wiese holds a 1.48 ERA and averages 9.32 strikeouts a game.
