Deborah Mazzei and Abraham Sargent of the Oral Roberts track and field team were named Summit League Preseason Athletes to Watch for the outdoor season, as announced by League officials Wednesday morning.

Indoor champion South Dakota was voted the preseason favorites on the men's side after receiving 46 total points and four of the eight first-place votes. Reigning outdoor champion North Dakota State took two first-place votes and earned the runner-up spot with 42 total points. South Dakota State claimed the remaining first-place vote and 41 total points to take third. North Dakota and St. Thomas each received 26 points to tie for fourth while Kansas City (17), Western Illinois (16) and Oral Roberts (10) rounded out the men's rankings.
 
Defending champion South Dakota was picked to sit atop the League on the women's side after receiving 63 total points and seven of the nine first-place votes.  North Dakota State was selected to finish runner-up with 58 total points and the remaining two first-place votes. South Dakota State garnered 50 points good for third place while North Dakota picked up 43 total points for fourth place. Kansas City (32), St. Thomas (27), Omaha (22), Western Illinois (15) and Oral Roberts (14) completed the women's rankings.
